Dear Beman Middle School Community Members,I’m writing to inform you of an upcoming leadership transition at Beman Middle School.As you may remember, Mr. Byron's last day with us will be December 13, 2024. His leadership has made a lasting positive impact on our school community, and we are grateful for his contributions. While we will miss him, we wish him success in his next chapter. I am pleased to announce that Mr. Joe Cassella will lead Beman Middle School during this transition period. Mr. Cassella brings extensive educational experience to this role, having taught middle school for 17 years in Southington before moving into administration. His leadership experience includes serving as Assistant Principal at Cromwell High School and Principal at both Wesley Elementary School and Woodrow Wilson Middle School here in Middletown. We are grateful to Mr. Cassella for stepping into this role and bringing his wealth of K-12 administrative experience to support our Beman Middle School community.Mr. Cassella will work alongside our Assistant Principals – Ms. Niles, Ms. Thomas, and Mr. Mierzejewski – to maintain Beman's positive climate and culture through this transition. Once selected, Mr. Cassella will work closely with the incoming principal to ensure a successful onboarding process and seamless transfer of responsibilities.Our search for Beman's next principal is underway. We are committed to finding an exceptional leader who will continue to advance Beman Middle School's trajectory towards academic excellence and student success.
