Welcome to Beman Middle School and the New School Year: 2026-2027

Dear Parents/Guardians of Beman Middle School,

I would like to introduce myself. I am Jason Serra, the new principal at Beman Middle School. I look forward to working with you to create an educational environment that is positive and conducive for all students. 

I have been an educator in the Middletown Public School system for 27 years, the past 11 years as an assistant principal at Middletown High School. My background includes roles as Assistant Principal, Dean of Students, Summer School Administrator, Athletic Director Intern, and Health and Physical Education teacher. Additionally, my experience coaching various high school sports has allowed me to build meaningful relationships with students and families beyond the classroom.

Parents/guardians will have the opportunity to meet the Administration on Tuesday August 18, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Beman Middle School front foyer. Additionally incoming 6th graders that did not have an opportunity to tour the school in the spring will have that option during this time. 

As an educator, my philosophy is to be firm, fair, and consistent. I value integrity, transparency and believe that "well done is better than well said."
